Well this is in fact the story behind the re-branding process I recently had.
During the years I designed my logo and the entire branding related to it by myself. One day I felt that the previous design must go and this time, I was ready to have someone else designing the new look.
So I searched for him, a lot.
I searched for recommendations on a graphic designer in many different photography forums and felt that none of them can meet my expectations. I am not saying they were not good, I just wanted to see some work that will take my breath away. I wanted to hire someone that will give me the feeling of being special just like the way I treat each and every one of my clients, someone who will search and explore and see beyond any obvious path and way. A good branding process must be something that offers a lot more then the obvious aesthetic experience, it should reflect the heart of your creation, it needs to have a deeper correlation with the meaning of your artistic and business intentions – A strong concept. Then come the graphics that match the concept and present it.
It took me weeks till I’ve found the one – Jonathan Yuen from Singapore. Through exploring his website I had a strong feeling that this might be the beginning of the process. We started rolling…
The definition of the concept was an intensive process. Words, ideas, questions and answers that created a solid background for the visual interpretation that followed. It was an exceptionally interesting process! It was one of the very few times when I have found my self on the other side – The client’s side. I specified the guidelines and then let Jonathan do his magic. Step by step we exposed the final concept. The next step, designing the Logo, was the visual base for the entire concept. The logo, as you have probably noticed, is created with 2 red Ls that shape the letter S for Sharon, they also function as framing brackets. This concept is strongly shaped in the business card. When folded, the Ls shape the original logo. When the card is open, the Ls become a framing brackets for my information that was hidden inside. Design is complete.
Finding a place that can Print this card wasn’t easy at all. I searched for a printer that can handle this design and couldn’t find one for weeks. During the time, I printed a flat version of the card waiting for the right time to research for a printer again… I entered Parkland Printing & Graphics store in Coral Springs one day to print the flat version again not even thinking about asking if they can print the folded card. Going through their work samples… It took me just few minutes to understand that maybe, the place that I was looking for is just 2 minutes from my home. So I asked. Rochelle and Harvey were very confident about their ability to print the card, few days ago I held the first card in my hands. That was the end of a very creative process that gave me an exceptional chance to feel like a valued client, same feeling I will do anything I can to provide to my clients.
Happy, Creative New Year!

2009 is closing in just few hours. With it, the first decade of the new millennium will say goodbye. I do remember myself saying “what a great year it was”…
But a decade? Have you ever thought where were you 10 years ago?
10 years ago I was still a student. Only 9 years ago I met the beautiful woman that 2.5 years later became my wife. 9 years ago I still had hair on my head
7 years ago I graduated my studies (BFA) and started looking for a gallery to exhibit my work. 6.5 years ago I exhibited my first solo exhibition followed by too many group exhibitions to remember…
5 years ago Netta, our first angel was born. Life in every mean, is not the same as it was before his birth. Fatherhood is not something one can grasp just from reading about it…. 6 moths ago our little princess, Avigail, was born and 1+1 is no longer 2 since that moment.
8 years ago I photographed my 1st wedding. 8 years later I am about to photograph my 250th wedding. I remember each and every one of them.
All these and much more have happened in the last decade. A decade full of emotions. Full of happiness. Full of excitement and many achievements. Blessed with surprises… It was all about growing, giving, receiving and Love.
So what would I wish myself for the new decade to come? I wish myself the same joy when hearing Netta say “Dad”, a small word that keeps reminding me what is the meaning of life. I wish myself the pride of seeing Avigail doing her very first steps. The peacefulness in waking up every morning with the woman I so much love. The chance to tell my parents everyday how much I love them and appreciate their place in my heart. And the honor of photographing a bride and a groom celebrating their love and commitment with their very best friends and their closest family.
And I wish you all the very best of everything you wish to yourselves.
Happy New Decade!
